Lighting project sample and specification review

Project Support

Keep selection, samples, delivery and warranty in one decision path

Project support is the connective work between a compelling image and an installed luminaire. Moooi organizes configuration questions, approval evidence and delivery dependencies so each participant understands what is decided, what remains open and who owns the next action.

“A reliable handover does not remove design ambition; it records the conditions that allow the ambition to arrive intact.”

From shortlist to approved configuration

The opening review connects fixture scale and room character to mounting height, canopy position, weight support, voltage, CCT, driver and control interface. Where a family has IES or LDT data, the file supports calculation for that configuration; where it does not, the project team should avoid inferring distribution from photographs.

Samples answer material, colour and scale questions under representative light. They do not replace photometric testing or certify an unlisted configuration. Approval notes therefore distinguish visual acceptance from electrical and compliance acceptance.

From order release to handover

Lead-time review begins with a complete configuration and the required approval date. Site access, protected storage, lifting equipment, ceiling readiness and installation sequence can be mapped before dispatch. A delayed ceiling or unresolved control interface can affect commissioning even when the luminaire arrives on schedule.

At handover, the record identifies installed configuration, care guidance, driver location and warranty contact. Warranty scope depends on documented terms, operating conditions and authorized installation; it is not a blanket promise against wear, damage or incompatible controls.

Four gates in the support record

Record room use, fixture family, size, finish, suspension, desired CCT and the technical files required for evaluation. Flag any claim that varies by configuration.

Define what the sample will prove, who approves it and under which light it will be viewed. Photograph and date the accepted reference where project procedures allow.

Confirm approved configuration, quantity, delivery address, access constraints, storage protection and the relationship between arrival and ceiling readiness.

Keep order references, installation records and operating conditions accessible. Report issues with photographs and control details so the first review is based on evidence.
